Do I need WhatsApp Business for a wa.me link?

No. wa.me links work with both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business accounts. The number just needs to be registered on WhatsApp.

Which format should the number be in?

In the link, the number includes the country code, digits only, without a leading + or 0 (e.g. 905321234567). The tool converts Turkish formats such as 0532..., 532... and +90 532... automatically.

Can I use special characters and emoji in the message?

Yes. The message is URL-encoded (encodeURIComponent) into the link, so accented characters, line breaks and emoji are preserved.

Will the WhatsApp button slow down my website?

The button code from this tool loads no external script or library; it is just a link with inline styles, so its effect on page speed is negligible.

Is the number I enter stored?

No. The link is generated in your browser. For convenience, your last values are kept only in your own browser's local storage; you can delete them at any time by clearing your browser data.
