SEO Meta Tag Generator

To create SEO meta tags, enter the page title, description, URL, share image and site name; the tool builds title, meta description, canonical, Open Graph and Twitter tags you can paste into your <head>. It warns you when the title goes beyond about 60 characters or the description beyond about 160, and shows a Google result preview and a social card preview. Local businesses can also generate optional LocalBusiness JSON-LD.

Frequently asked questions

How long should the title and meta description be?

There is no strict character limit; Google truncates by pixel width. In practice, about 50–60 characters for the title and about 120–160 for the description make it more likely they display without being cut off.

Does the meta description affect rankings?

Google states that the meta description is not a direct ranking factor, but a well-written description can make a result more likely to be clicked. Google may also show other text from the page instead.

What size should the Open Graph image be?

The commonly used size is 1200 × 630 pixels (about 1.91:1). The image URL should be absolute (starting with https://) and publicly accessible.

What does the canonical tag do?

When the same content is available at several URLs (e.g. with parameters), it tells search engines which URL you prefer. Each page should usually point to its own clean URL as canonical.

When should I add LocalBusiness JSON-LD?

It suits businesses with a physical address or a defined service area. The structured data should match the information visible on the page; do not add details that are not on the page.
