DevOps and Release Automation
Branch-based automated beta/production releases with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners, rollback, a versioning standard and a sample release panel that manages every repository from one screen.
Challenge
When businesses with several applications release to servers by hand, the risk of errors grows. Rolling back a faulty version and knowing which version runs where becomes difficult.
Solution
This sample setup includes an automated release pipeline to IIS servers with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners. In the branch-based flow, beta and production are released separately, and a previous version can be restored when needed. There is a common versioning standard and release notifications. A release panel managing every repository from one screen and secure external access (tunnel) management are also part of the setup.
